UMSS - TRADITIONALS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY 9/10/2022

New Richmond, WI, September 10, 2022

The Traditional Sprint cars of the Pirtek Renegades were back at Cedar Lake Speedway to celebrate the 22nd annual Jerry Richert memorial race. Twenty-one sprinters signed in to do battle, in three 7-car qualifiers. Pirtek heat race #1, which was actually run third after some extended surface preparation, saw the #54 of Cam Schafer bring home the win from the second row. RTS podcast heat #2 went Jake Kouba, while “Surfin’ Safari” Brad Peterson bested the field in CLS heat #3. Peterson and Schafer accumulated identical 138 passing points for top honors in that category. Saturday was also the third and final installment of the GT Transport Hot Shot Challenge. The top six points earners from the heat races all were given the option of forfeiting their scheduled starting position - and head tail end for the start - in pursuit of a whopping $3,000 bonus paid out by GT Transport. Of the six eligible drivers, Cam Schafer and Scott Brandt took up the challenge. With Schafer giving up the catbird’s seat for the challenge, that put Brad Peterson and Nick DaRonco on the front row. At the drop of the green, Peterson led DaRonco, Johnny Parsons, Mike Mueller, and Jon Lewerer through lap one, with DaRonco taking over the top spot on the second circuit. At the back, Schafer and Brandt went to work immediately and started slicing their way forward, as the pair had already worked their way up to 11th and 12th when a caution flew just four laps in. Back under green, DaRonco began pulling a gap ahead of Parsons, Peterson, Jake Kouba and Mueller. On a restart after the caution on lap eleven, Schafer worked from sixth to fourth in his dogged pursuit of the GT bonus cash. As the laps clicked off, DaRonco increased his lead over the second running Peterson and Schafer, who had clawed his way up to third. At the double checkers, it was Nick DaRonco extending his CLS winning streak to five, ahead of Peterson, Schafer, Mueller and Kouba. With no driver able to claim the GT Transport Hot Shot Challenge, the $3,000 bounty was split evenly among the drivers who competed in all three GT Transport events this summer. The Pirtek Renegade season wraps up this weekend for both the winged and traditional sprint cars as they participate in the annual Legendary 100 at Cedar Lake on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, September, 15 - 17. More information on upcoming events for the Pirtek Renegades, as well as links to other Renegades series, can be found at www.umsprints.com, or on facebook.

UMSS - TRADITIONALS AND WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY 8/27/2022

New Richmond, WI, August 27, 2022

The Pirtek Renegades wrapped up the fifth annual “Swampman Invitational” despite Mom Nature’s evening long threats of rain. In winged action, the heat race wins went to Mike Mueller, Brady Donnohue and Chase Viebrock with Donnohue racking up a field best 143 passing points. For the traditional sprints, line ups were determined by “driver choice”. Drivers, in order of random draw, elected which heat race and which position within that race they felt would help them accumulate the most passing points - with the feature line up determined straight-up according to those points. In Pirtek heat #1, Cam Schafer scored the win from outside of row three, earning the #54 an impressive 153 points. In RTS podcast heat #2, last night’s winner, Nick DaRonco used the exact same strategy for the exact same 153 point result. Ken Hron tallied the final qualifier win in CLS heat #3. For the 20-lap wing finale, Mike Mueller and Jack Berger, behind the wheel of Chris Vogel’s 2v for the evening, set the pace for the 22-car field. Quickly squirting to the front was the #P1 of Mark Chevalier, while Berger, Chase Viebrock, Brady Donnohue and Mueller pursued. By the halfway mark, Viebrock had worked up to the runner-up spot and he and Berger began chomping into the sizable lead Chevalier had built up. With 15 laps in the books, Viebrock made his move and swept to the point, leaving Chevalier to contend with Berger. At the double checkers it was Viebrock claiming his second win of the season in front of Berger, Chevalier, Donnohue and Mueller. With Schafer and DaRonco pacing the traditional field for their 25-lap nightcap, at the drop of the green the duo completed lap one in virtual lockstep through the first ⅜ mile. After a few circuits, DaRonco, Schafer and Northern Renegade hotshoe Ken Hron broke away from the rest of the field. Fellow northerner Chris Lewis was entrenched in fourth - and you could throw a blanket over the battle for fifth. Scott Brandt, Mike Mueller, Western Renegade standout Adam Sobolik, and Jake Kouba were in a tight four-pack lap after nail-biting lap. Eventually, Erik Bjorklund joined the fray to make it a five-car donnybrook. As the laps waned, the battle at the point became just as thrilling with Schafer climbing all over the fuel cell of DaRonco’s #8 mount. On two occasions, Schafer set up for a slide job pass in turn three, but the Britt, MN, chauffeur narrowly rebuffed both attempts. After the 25th lap, it was DaRonco sweeping the weekend for his series leading sixth win of the summer ahead of Schafer, Hron, Lewis, and Sobolik. Both Pirtek Renegades divisions are off for the labor day weekend, and many teams are expected to head west to participate in the Western Renegades 3-night, 2-track holiday event. The following weekend, September 10, the traditionals return to CLS for the Richert memorial. More information on upcoming events for the Pirtek Renegades, as well as links to other Renegades series, can be found at www.umsprints.com, or on facebook.

UMSS - TRADITIONALS AND WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY 8/26/2022

New Richmond, WI, August 26, 2022

The Pirtek Renegades got the band back together for the fifth annual Traditional Sprint Car Challenge at Cedar Lake Speedway, with both the winged and traditional divisions doing battle at the high-banked 3/8ths mile speedplant in New Richmond, WI. The wings kicked off the action with the #63 of Todd Hansen bringing home the win in Pirtek heat race #1, while Trevor Reding snared his first ever Pirtek win in RTS podcast heat #2. Last week’s winner, Chase Viebrock, raced up from sixth to win CLS heat #3. Viebrock and Reding led all drivers with identical 153 passing points. In Traditional qualifying action, Jake Kouba picked up the win in Pirtek heat race #1. Lucas Logue picked up his first career Pirtek heat race win in the RTS podcast Heat #2 and Erik Bjorklund kept the “first ever” streak going as the former modified pilot won for the first time in a sprint car, winning CLS heat #3. Mike Mueller bested the field in the passing points department, racking up 141. In feature action, the wings saw Owen Carlson open up a big early lead over Luke Nellis and Patrick Heikkinen. Just prior to halfway, the P1 of Mark Chevalier had swept his way into the runner-up spot, but in turn one, Chevalier’s power plant let go, locking up the rear tires and sending him spinning into turn two. Unfortunately, the third running Nellis and fourth running Todd Hansen clipped the prone P1, causing Hansen’s #63 to flip over bringing out a red flag. All three drivers emerged unhurt, but only Nellis was able to continue after a visit to the work area - moving Viebrock up to Carlson’s fuel cell for the final 10 laps. Back under green, Carlson picked up where he left off and sped to his second win of the summer in front of Viebrock, Brady Donnohue, Heikkinen, and Mike Mueller. In the night’s finale, Cam Schafer and Erik Bjorklund redrew the front row for the 25-lap headliner, and Schafer immediately established his #54 mount at the point. Chasing Schafer were Scott Brandt, Bjorklund, Jake Kouba and Mike Mueller. Starting seventh and charging hard, Nick DaRonco was up to third at the crossed flags and he and Kouba began to close in on Schafer. DaRonco first made it around Kouba, then, with just three laps remaining and in heavy traffic, the Britt, MN, chauffeur powered his #8 hotrod into the lead. The last three laps clicked off the same as the first 22 - fast and caution free - as DaRonco sailed to his fifth Pirtek win of the summer. Schafer crossed the stripe in second ahead of Kouba, Brandt, and Mueller. Both divisions are right back at CLS on Saturday for the second and final night of the Traditional Challenge. The Pirteks then have Labor Day weekend off with an opportunity for the traditionals to join the Western Renegades for their 3-day event at River Cities and Devils Lake. More information on upcoming events for the Pirtek Renegades, as well as links to other Renegades series, can be found at www.umsprints.com, or on facebook.

UMSS - TRADITIONALS - JACKSON MOTORPLEX 8/20/2022

New Richmond, WI, and Jackson, MN, August 20, 2022

The Pirtek Renegades were in action in two different divisions, at two different race tracks, in two different states on Saturday. The Wings participated in the season championship event at Cedar Lake Speedway, while the Traditionals raced in support of the World of Outlaws, 200 miles away at the Jackson Motorplex. At Cedar Lake, the opening Pirtek heat race #1 went to Brady Donnohue, but the #34DD was disqualified in post-race tech for a safety violation, awarding the win to Jamey Ogston. RTS podcast heat race #2 went to Chase Viebrock, while Mark Chevalier took home the win in CLS heat #3. Ogston started sixth in his heat, so the win netted him a field best 153 passing points. Meanwhile, at the Jackson Motorplex, the 15-car field was split into two qualifiers, with Scott Brandt winning Pirtek heat #1, accumulating a field best 138 passing points in the process. Jake Kouba snared checkers in RTS podcast heat #2. Jon Lewerer and Brad Cunningham redrew the front row for the 20-lap Traditional finale in Jackson, with Lewerer leading the field into turn one. Scott Brandt was making hay early, running very strong in the high groove - enough to take over the point on the second circuit. Behind the leaders, Johnny Parsons III, Cunningham, Kouba and Mike Mueller were all vying for third. Kouba followed Brandt’s lead and swept into second up high, leaving Lewerer to lock horns for several laps in a high-low battle with Parsons for third. At the double checkers it was Brandt claiming his first sticker of the summer with his first career win at the venerable Jackson, Minnesota speedplant. The caution-free feature saw Kouba come home second, ahead of Lewerer, Parsons, and Mueller.

Back in western Wisconsin, it was Jamey Ogston and Chase Viebrock leading the 22 scheduled starters to green with Ogston showing the way early while Viebrock was fending off the #74N of Luke Nellis for second. Behind the lead group, Chris Vogel, Mark Chevalier, Owen Carlson and Carter Chevalier were slicing and dicing in search of a line forward. On a restart just past the halfway point, Ogston had his rear Hoosiers skid to the front, setting his #03 prone in front of the field - and the #13 of Patrick Heikkinen clipped just enough of Ogston’s front wing to send him flipping in turn two. Both drivers were unhurt, and Ogston was able to continue, but Heikkinen’s mount was too heavily damaged to rejoin the race. On the restart, it was the New Richmond Nightmare show, as Viebrock launched himself to race in his own zip code. On a track that absorbed several inches of rain during the week, drivers searched throughout the evening to find the smoothest line - and Viebrock found the needle in the haystack. Seemingly without so much as a wing bobble, the #50 found a smooth and lightning fast groove up high and sailed around the high banks to dominate the final laps and claim his first win of the 2022 season. Carter Chevalier came home second, with Carlson, Nellis, and Donnohue rounding out the top five. The traditionals and wings reunite this Friday and Saturday, August 26 and 27, at Cedar Lake for the fifth annual “Swampman Invitational”, formally known as The Traditional Challenge. Cars from multiple Renegades series are expected to make the tow to Wisconsin for this annual crown-jewel event on the Pirtek Renegades calendar. More information on upcoming events forthe Pirtek Renegades, as well as links to other Renegades series, can be found at www.umsprints.com, or on facebook.

UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 8/20/2022

UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 7/30/2022

New Richmond, WI, July 30, 2022

The winged sprints of the Pirtek Renegades returned to their home track, Cedar Lake Speedway, after spending the previous weekend touring central Wisconsin. A whopping twenty seven teams signed in to do battle on the high banks, qualifying in three heat races. Tyler Rabenberg nabbed the win in Pirtek heat race #1, while Jack Berger snared checkers in RTS podcast heat #2, with CLS heat #3 going to Brady Donnohue. Rabenberg and Berger tallied identical 143 passing points to lead all drivers, with each coming from the outside of the second row for their respective wins. Donnohue and Patrick Heikkinen redrew the front row for the 20-lap feature, with Donnohue taking charge early being chased by Heikkinen and Berger. Behind the leaders, Todd Hanson, Carter Chevalier and Owen Carlson were locking horns in a dandy 3-car tussle for fourth. After a caution on lap 15, the restart saw the #63 of Hanson snake past both Heikkinen and Berger and into second, with Donnohue not missing a beat and continuing his domination at the point. In the final few laps Carter Chevalier and Mike Mueller also cracked the top five. At the double checkers it was Donnohue picking up his first career Renegade sticker, followed by Hanson in second, which was also a career best. Heikkinen, Chevalier and Mueller rounded out the top five. Through eight events so far this season for the winged sprints, Donnohue’s win marks the seventh different winner in what is proving to be a very balanced and competitive field for the Pirtek Renegades. The Renegades will take a two-week hiatus before wrapping up the season with a flurry of events and invitationals. The winged sprints’ next action will be back at CLS on August 20, and the traditional sprints hit the road that same evening for their lone appearance of the season at the Jackson Motorplex, in Jackson, MN. The following weekend, both winged and traditional teams will descend on Cedar Lake for the fifth annual “Swampman Invitational”, formally known as the Traditional Sprint Car Challenge. The Friday/Saturday, August 26/27 affair also features teams from the Northern Renegades and Mid-American Renegades, and potentially a few Chequamegon Renegades and Western Renegades teams as well. UMSS - WINGS - EAGLE VALLEY SPEEDWAY - 7/22/2022

Jim Falls, WI, July 22, 2022
The Pirtek Renegades winged sprints traveled a bit deeper into central Wisconsin for their second of two consecutive nights of competing in the Badger state with a Friday venture to the Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls. Twenty teams checked in to do battle on the ⅜ mile clay oval, with Patrick Heikkinen, Casey Lang, and Luke Nellis claiming the three heat race wins. Jack Berger led all drivers with 146 passing points, charging up from last to second in the opening heat race. Berger and Nellis redrew the front row for the main event, pacing the field to green for their twenty-lap feature. Just like the prior evening, the feature was noteworthy due a driver starting deep in the field having an impressive run forward. Coming off his win the previous evening at Thunder Hill Speedway, Mike Mueller started in row nine, and passed cars at a pace of nearly one per lap. Up front, it was Berger collecting his second sticker of ‘22, who also won in his only other UMSS race of the summer, July 2, at CLS. Chasing Berger to the stripe were Jesse Glenz, Nellis, Mueller, and Brady Donnohue. The Pirtek Renegades return to their home track this weekend, July 30, when the winged sprints hit the high banks of Cedar Lake Speedway. UMSS - WINGS - THUNDER HILL SPEEDWAY - 7/21/2022

Menomonie, WI, July 21, 2022

The winged sprints of the Pirtek Renegades, following the lead of the traditional sprints last month, made their first ever appearance at the Thunder Hill Speedway in Menomonie, Wisconsin on Thursday night. An impressive 15 teams clogged the pits at the ⅛ mile bullring. The teams split into four heats, with two cars advancing from each heat, and two more qualifiers coming from the b-feature. Heat race wins went to Trevor Reding, Chase Viebrock, Mike Mueller, and Chippewa Falls late model pilot Jesse Glenz showing off his versatility - having competed in late models, modifieds, traditional sprints, and now winged sprints this summer. Viebrock also won the 8-lap dash to earn the pole for the 40-lap main event. Viebrock and Reding paced the 10-car feature field to green with Viebrock looking for the three-race sweep and taking command early. The race was notable for impressive charges through the field by Cam Schafer - the last qualifier from the b-main, and eighth starting Chris Graf. The duo took advantage of the wide and racy track to finish in the top four, but the race belonged to Viebrock, with Mueller, Schafer, Graf, and Glenz rounding out the top five. Unfortunately, Viebrock’s #50 hotrod failed post-race technical inspection and was disqualified - making Mike Mueller the winner. The win also crowned Mueller King of the Hill with the season sweep at Thunder Hill, having won the traditional contest back in June.

UMSS - TRADITIONALS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 7/16/2022

New Richmond, WI, July 16, 2022

The tenth event on the schedule for the traditional sprint cars of the Pirtek Renegades was contested on Saturday night at the venerable Cedar Lake Speedway. Seventeen teams signed in for the night, split into two qualifying heat races. Jon Lewerer nabbed the win in Pirtek heat race #1, while Jake Kouba snared checkers in RTS podcast heat #2. Lewerer led all drivers in accumulating 133 passing points. Scott Brandt and Jake Kouba redrew the front row for the 20-lap feature, with Kouba darting to the point early chased by Brandt, Brad Peterson, Zach Widdes, and Nick DaRonco. Just prior to halfway, Kouba still led and DaRonco had worked up to second in front of Peterson, Cam Schafer and Brandt. With eleven laps remaining, the #54 of Schafer got into the marbles entering turn one and took a hard lick off the concrete. Schafer emerged from the wreckage unscathed, but his sprinter was too heavily damaged to continue. On the restart, Kouba, DaRonco, Peterson and Lewerer were all working the cushion while Brandt, Bryan Roach and Mike Mueller ran down low. With a lap-and-a-half to go, DaRonco threw a slide job at Kouba in turn two. Kouba didn’t have enough momentum to sneak back underneath and DaRonco went on to claim his fourth win of the season ahead of Kouba, Peterson, Lewerer and Widdes. The traditional sprints are off until their show at the Jackson Motorplex on August 20, giving them a few weeks off to regroup or hit the road in support of other Renegade series. The wings return to action this week for a Thursday/Friday set, starting with the Pirtek debut of the winged cars at Menomonie’s Thunder Hill Speedway. The wings then finish out the week with their lone visit of the season to Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, WI. UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 7/2/2022

New Richmond, WI, July 2. 2022 A record 30 winged Pirtek Renegades attacked the high banks of Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday night for the second night of their annual Independence Day celebration. Pirtek heat race #1 went to Jack Berger in his 2022 Renegade debut. RTS podcast heat #2 went to (Pheasant Leggs) Casey Lang, who also led all racers with 153 passing points. CLS heat race #3 was claimed by Tony Kaus. Berger and Bruce Allen redrew the front row for the 20-lap finale, and Berger opened a quick early gap. Behind the leader, Allen, Brady Donnohue and Chris Vogel were locking horns for the runner-up spot. A steady charge from Mark Chevalier saw the P1 cracking the top five near the halfway point after starting ninth. Lapped traffic barely slowed Berger, as the 19B ran a masterful race to pick up the clean-sweep win in the caution-free main event. Donnohue came home second in front of Lang and Chevalier while Tyler Rabenberg rounded out the top five. The Pirtek Renegades have an open weekend on the calendar and will return to action on Friday, July 15, when the traditional sprints head south to join the Mid-American Renegades for an event at the Chateau Speedway in Lansing, MN. UMSS - TRADITIONALS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 7/1/2022

New Richmond, WI, July 01, 2022 The traditional sprint cars of the Pirtek Renegades joined the World of Outlaws at Cedar lake Speedway for their annual Independence Day weekend sprint car showdown. Twenty-five racers checked in for the Friday night portion of the two-day special event. Cam Schafer scored the win in Pirtek heat race #1, while Nick DaRonco charged up from the eighth starting spot to claim the RTS podcast heat race #2. The CLS final heat race saw Jake Kouba claiming the win. DaRonco’s last-to-first run resulted in the Britt, MN chauffeur besting all drivers with a whopping 163 passing points. Prior to the 20-lap feature, it was the second installment of the GT Transport Hot Shot Challenge, where the top four passing points earners were given the opportunity to elect a tail-end starting position. If a driver choosing to start at the rear won the feature, GT Transport would pay out a handsome $2,000 bonus. With Terry Galle of GT Transport waving 20 Benjamin Franklins in front of the eligible drivers: Nick DaRonco, Brad Cunningham, Cam Schafer, and Rob Caho, Jr., all four declined the challenge and retained their starting positions. The final GT Transport Hot Shot Challenge will occur on September 10, at the Jerry Richert Memorial race, when the bonus creeps up another $1,000, to $3,000, with the top six passing point earners eligible. For the feature race, it was DaRonco and Cunningham pacing the pack, and the pair were in lock step for the first two circuits, while Mike Mueller, Jake Kouba, and Schafer were in a tight three-way tussle for third. After a break in the action on lap four, the final 16 laps clicked off caution free. DaRonco established the #8 as the car to beat while Schafer ran a groove higher than the rest of the field to progress up to second position just past the crossed-flags. Dodging traffic and testing multiple lines, Schafer hunted in vain for the necessary speed to chase down DaRonco - who raced to his second sticker of 2022. Schafer crossed the line as runner-up, ahead of Kouba, Cunningham, and Mueller. The winged Pirtek Renegades wrap up the weekend with the Outlaws on Saturday, July 2. UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 6/25/2022

New Richmond, WI, June 25, 2022 The Pirtek Renegades returned to their home track on Saturday when the traditional sprints took part in Dash race #8 at Cedar Lake Speedway. Eighteen total sprinters checked in to do battle, with Cam Schafer claiming the win in Pirtek heat race #1. Jake Kouba raced from the outside of row one to snare the win in the RTS podcast heat race #2. Schafer led all racers with 138 passing points in the qualifiers. Brad Peterson and Blake Anderson redrew the front row starting spots for the twenty lap finale with the lead duo and Brad Cunningham comprising an early breakaway lead pack at the drop of the green flag. Behind the lead trio, Scott Brandt, Schafer, and Nick DaRonco were slicing and dicing for the fourth spot. As the laps clicked off, Anderson and Cunningham traded the top spot multiple times, and by the crossed flags, Schafer emerged to make it a three-way tussle for the lead. As Anderson started pulling a gap for the lead, DaRonco and Jake Kouba emerged to make it a four car battle for second. With just five laps remaining, Anderson made contact with a lapped car just past the flagstand, causing a violent rollover on the front stretch and bringing out the red flag. Anderson exited his inverted car shaken but otherwise okay. Unfortunately, his quest for the win ended as the 12x was far too damaged to continue. Schafer inherited the lead on the restart and went on to pick up his third Pirtek Renegade win of the summer, ahead of Kouba, DaRonco, Brandt, and Mike Mueller. The Pirtek Renegades return to Cedar Lake this weekend for the annual two-day World of Outlaws sprint special. The traditional sprints team up with the Outlaws on Friday, July 1, and the winged sprints take over on Saturday, July 2. UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 6/11/2022

New Richmond, WI, June 11, 2022 The Pirtek Renegade winged sprints of the UMSS celebrated kids’ night at Cedar Lake on Saturday. Nineteen teams checked in to do battle in a pair of qualifying heat races. Youth was served as a pair of young guns, Owen Carlson in Pirtek heat one and Luke Nellis in the RTS Podcast heat two, won the qualifiers while stacking up identical 133 passing points. The 20-lap main event saw Owen Carlson and Chris Vogel redrawing the front row, and at the drop of the green it was Carlson taking charge early. Behind Carlson, Vogel, Casey Lang, and Jeremy Schultz were giving chase in front of the three-wide battle between Mike Mueller, Jamie Ogston, and Mark Chevalier. By lap 5, eighth starting Chase Viebrock had worked up into the top five. By the crossed flags, Carlson had built up a nearly half-lap lead while Viebrock was slicing towards the front, eventually making it up to second place with five laps remaining. A red flag on lap 16 erased Carlson’s huge lead, putting Viebrock right on his fuel cell for the final four circuits. Carlson had a strong restart, and Viebrock stayed within striking distance. With the white flag waving, Viebrock attempted to slide into the lead, but the New Richmond Nightmare didn’t have quite enough low-side speed to complete the pass, with Carlson hanging on to the point. Another slide job attempt in the final two turns once again only pulled Viebrock even with Carlson and the duo drag-raced to the double checkers. At the stripe, Carlson bested Viebrock by the slimmest of margins, 0.067 seconds to be exact, for his first career Pirtek Renegade feature win in front of Viebrock, Vogel, Chevalier and Lang. The Pirtek Renegades return to action this Saturday and Sunday, when both the winged and traditional teams take a weekend tour of central Minnesota. Saturday night, the Renegades visit Ogilvie Raceway before heading to Granite City Speedway on Sunday, June 19. UMSS - TRADITIONALS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 6/4/2022

New Richmond, WI, June 4, 2022 The Pirtek Renegade traditional sprints of the UMSS returned to Cedar Lake on Saturday for their third visit of the season. 22 teams checked in to do battle in a pair of qualifying heat races. Jake Kouba picked up the win in Pirtek heat race one while last night’s winner Cam Schafer snared checkers in RTS podcast heat race two. Both winners came from the outside of row three to amass a whopping 153 passing points. Jeremy Kerzman made his 2022 Pirtek Renegades debut and redrew the pole position for the 20-lap main event, starting inside of Jake Kouba. Kerzman shot to the point as the field fanned out behind him. Eighth starting Schafer was charging hard and quickly broke into the top five, jockeying for position in a group that included Jon Lewerer, Blake Anderson, Brad Peterson and Nick DaRonco. A three-car crash on lap eleven brought out the red flag, erasing the 10 car length advantage Kerzman had built up over Jake Kouba and Schafer. The last nine laps clicked off caution free as Kerzman wrapped up his season debut in victory lane. Kouba, Schafer, DaRonco and Lewerer completed the rest of the top five. The Pirtek Renegades return to action Saturday, when the winged teams come back to their home track of Cedar Lake. The following weekend, June 18 and 19, both the wings and traditionals take in a central Minnesota swing at Ogilvie Raceway and Granite City Speedway. Jim Falls, WI, June 3, 2022 Perfect early summer weather greeted 13 traditional sprint car teams of the Pirtek Renegades for their annual trek to Eagle Valley Speedway on Friday night. Blake Anderson scored the win in Pirtek heat race one, while Cam Schafer nabbed checkers in RTS podcast heat race two. Anderson and Schafer tallied identical 143 passing points enroute to winning their respective heat races. Brain Trembath redrew the pole position for the 20-lap main event, starting inside of Schafer, the winner of the last three Pirtek features at EVS. At the drop of the green, Schafer left no one in suspense as he quickly shot to the point with the #99 of Bryan Roach charging hard from mid- pack. As the laps ticked off, it became increasingly clear that Schafer would push his EVS winning streak to four. The winningest driver in Renegade history nudged up his record win total to 43 ahead of Roach, Jake Kouba, Zach Widdes, and John Breitenfeldt. UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 5/21/2022

New Richmond, WI, May 21, 2022 A cool afternoon turned into a chilly evening for the Winged Pirtek Renegades for their second event of the season as they joined the regular cast of racers at Cedar Lake Speedway on Saturday. Owen Carlson scored the win in the Pirtek heat race #1 while Carter Chevalier snared the Reaction Time Sports Podcast heat #2. Carlson and Chevalier both won from the outside of row two, amassing identical 143 passing points. After the redraw, the 74N of Luke Nellis drew the pole to start inside Chevalier for the 20-lap main event. At the drop of the green, Chevalier opened up a sizable gap between himself and Nellis, who was being chased by Carlson, Todd Hanson, Chase Viebrock, and Jamie Ogston. The man on the move was Mark Chevalier - after missing his heat race, Mark tagged the back of the field and was in the top ten by the time a caution flew just prior to halfway. It turned out, Mark had charged a bit too hard, and was docked two positions on the restart for jumping the original race start. Back under green, and one more caution, Carter Chevalier maintained a comfortable lead over Nellis, and later on, Viebrock. At the double checkers, it was Carter Chevalier claiming his first sticker of the summer in front of Viebrock, Nellis, and Carlson. Despite the penalty, Mark Chevalier had an impressive charge to round out the top five. The Pirtek Renegades will take the Memorial Day weekend off, affording teams the opportunity to rest or take in an event with either the Western Renegades or the Northern Renegades. The Traditionals are back in action on Friday, June 3, at Eagle Valley Speedway in Jim Falls, WI with a June 4 return to Cedar Lake Speedway. UMSS - TRADITIONALS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 5/14/2022

New Richmond, WI, May 14, 2022 Summer arrived in full force on Saturday when the PIRTEK Renegades took to the high banks of Cedar Lake Speedway as part of the annual School Bus special. Nineteen Traditional sprints checked in to do battle in June-like temperatures on a cloudless evening. Kevin Bradwell scored the win in the Pirtek heat race #1 while Brad Cunningham snared the Reaction TIme Sports Podcast heat #2. Britt, Minnesota’s Nick DaRonco scooped up a whopping 146 passing points to lead the field in that category. Terry and Rachel Galle, along with the rest of the GT Transport family were on hand for the first of three GT Transport Hot Shot Challenge events this summer. For the Hot Shot Challenge, the top two passing points earners may elect to start the feature at the tail. If the challenge is accepted, and the driver wins from the rear of the field, he or she is awarded an extra $1,000 courtesy of GT Transport! Top points earners on Saturday were DaRonco and Bradwell. Both front row starters declined the challenge - meaning the challenge purse increases to $2,000 for the next Hot Shot Challenge event, scheduled for Friday night, July 1, as part of Cedar Lake annual World of Outlaws weekend. For the 20-lap feature, it was DaRonco and Bradwell pacing nineteen sprinters to race starter Jeff Staken’s geen flag, and after an opening lap caution and quick restart, the finale went caution free. DaRonco held the point early, pursued by a gaggle of heavy hitters including Bradwell, Bryan Roach, Cam Schafer, Cunningham, Jon Lewerer, Johnny Parsons III, and Brad Peterson. Surprising no one, Schafer quickly found the high groove and worked from his third row starting spot up to second by lap four and set sail in pursuit of DaRonco. The field spread out under green, with many drivers favoring a higher groove but Roach and Lewerer were locking horns in a thrilling, racelong high-low battle for third. Up front, DaRonco was handed the near impossible task of holding off the winningest driver in PIRTEK Renegade history– for 16 laps. Schafer, never shy about testing alternate grooves, hunted and throttled in vain for those 16 laps as DaRonco was flawless in nabbing the flag-to-flag victory. Schafer settled for second ahead of Lewerer, Roach and Peterson. The PIRTEK Traditional sprints yield to their Winged brothers next week, as the wingers join the regular field at Cedar Lake in a dash series race, May 21. UMSS - WINGS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 5/07/2022

Brady Donnohue sat aside pole starter Trevor Serbus for the 20-lap winged finale, but many eyes in the arena were spying the #50 of Chase Viebrock. Viebrock encountered engine gremlins during hot laps and the team sat out qualifying action to swap powerplants, relegating the reigning champion to a tail end start.

After an early caution, the restart found Donnohue hard into the turn one concrete, sending the 34DD bouncing and spinning back into the #93 of Brad Peterson. While neither car was drivable afterwards, both drivers emerged seemingly no worse the for the wear.

After the red flag, the final 16 laps went green to the checkers with Serbus nabbing his first career Pirtek Renegade win, chased by Owen Carlson, Graf, Viebrock, and Mark Chevalier.

UMSS-TRADITIONALS - CEDAR LAKE SPEEDWAY - 5/07/2022

After losing out to Mother Nature for five consecutive weeks, the Pirtek Renegades of the UMSS finally kicked off their season Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway. Seventeen Traditional sprints checked in to do battle for the lid lifter, and twenty-one Winged chariots signed in for their opener.

In the Traditional ranks, heat race wins went to defending champion Mike Mueller and Bryan Roach, with Cam Schafer tallying the most passing points with 141. The three Winged qualifiers went to Michael Stien, Brad Peterson, and Chris Graf with Graf topping the passing points at 143. After the redraw, Roach and Lucas Logue paced the 16-car traditional field for their 20-lap feature. Roach led early, with several cars charging forward – including Zach Widdes from the tail, and Nick DaRonco and Schafer from mid-pack.

At the crossed flags, Schafer found himself in the same place he did 14 times last season, at the front of the pack, while Roach, Mueller, DaRonco, and Logue all jockeyed for position. Schafer led the last half of the caution-free affair to extend his record Renegade win total to 43, with DaRonco, Mueller, Roach and Logue rounding out the top five.
