Pirtek Diamond Sprint Car Series schedule, rules and more!

The winged division teams in the Diamond Sprint Car Series will be rolling into the Northwoods area of northwest Wisconsin three weeks from today, and posted below are the event flyers for both events. Each night the traditional (non-winged) Renegades sprint cars will also be competing in a complete racing program.

Gondik Law Speedway is located at 4700 Tower Ave, Superior, WI 54880. You can visit them online at www.gondiklawspeedway.com .

In what has become a wild and unpredictable weather season on multiple levels, the weather-delayed events from May at both Hibbing Speedway and Grand Rapids Speedway have now been removed from the Diamond Sprint Car Series schedule by the tracks. But the Gondik and ABC events remain, as scheduled.

Please make plans to join us at these two great racing facilities on Friday August 7th (Gondik Law Speedway) and Saturday August 8th (ABC Raceway) when the winged division teams of the Diamond Sprint Car Series and the Renegades traditional sprint cars roll into town!

KRA THURSDAY:

Pits - 4:00pm (but should be open earlier). • Minimum weight including fully suited driver:

A. Traditional: 1,350 pounds B. Wing: 1,550 pounds

• You can be weighed at any time during the event.

• Any added weight must be in block form or formed to frame, painted white with the car number stamped on it. Weight must be securely bolted and located between the front motor plate to 12 inches behind rear motor plate. No weight can be added, moved, or replaced during yellow or red flag conditions.

The $25 preregistration fee allow you to set up your car/display at KRA Speedway for our pre-race Fan Fest that Thursday night (about an hour before hot laps). You also have the right to display/sell your team merchandise, meet with fans and photo opps for social media!

And, preregistered drivers will not have to pay the $25 draw fee on race night. Drivers that choose not to preregister will pay a $25 draw fee that will get collected nightly and redistributed back to preregistered drivers during the racing season.

PLUS, it helps give the series track/fans the heads-up of the drivers coming to the event, which helps them sell tickets - which is the key for us building more and more events into the future!

A very wet and cool start to springtime in the arrowhead region of northeastern Minnesota is delaying the start of the PIRTEK Diamond Sprint Car Series resulting in a reshuffle of the schedule. The Diamond portion of the Memorial Day events scheduled at The Grand Rapids Speedway and Hibbing Speedway have been moved to this summer – when more suitable weather and predictable track conditions should prevail.

The biproduct of this change has also created something new: The PIRTEK Diamond Sprint Car Series Northwoods Speedweek!

The Hibbing Speedway date has been moved to Wednesday, August 5th, while The Grand Rapids Speedway event will be held Thursday, August 6th. Those two events now piggyback existing Gondik Law Speedway (August 7th) and ABC Raceway (August 8th) dates, thus creating the Diamond Sprint Car Series Northwoods Speedweek!

All four events will consist of the winged division of the Diamond Sprint Car Series, while the accompanying nonwinged (traditional) division will be UMSS Renegades series.

The Diamond Sprint Car Series features some of the best sprint car teams in the upper Midwest, and they will be competing in complete racing programs of heat races and features each night.

The series also invites racing fans to arrive early each night to take in Fan Fest (it’s free). This will allow fans to meet the drivers, check out team merchandise and get an up close and personal look at the cars they will see racing that night – not to mention great opportunities for selfies and pictures with the drivers!

Diamond Sprint Car Series Unveiled for Upper Midwest Teams, Tracks & Fans!

That’s right, at the conclusion of the series points season, the top driver in points will receive a custom-made diamond ring to commemorate their accomplishment.

Drivers will preregister for each event, which will allow time for the series and the track to pre-publicize to fans who they can expect to see competing on race night. This simple step will help generate fan buzz as well. Those preregistered drivers will also receive increased payback for their support come race night.
